A traditional herbal practitioner has disclosed that he turned down a N10 million offer to provide treatment for veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
According to the practitioner, the offer came from an individual based in the United States who contacted him in the hope that he could help improve the actor’s worsening health condition.
The healer explained that he declined the proposal despite the substantial amount involved, saying his principles and integrity were more important to him than the money.
Practitioner speaks on Ogogo’s health
The herbal practitioner made the revelation during an interview with broadcaster Kola Olootu, where he discussed the circumstances surrounding the offer to treat Ogogo.
He reportedly maintained that money was not enough reason for him to take on a case he was not confident about handling.
The development comes amid growing concern over Ogogo’s health following the public disclosure by his daughters that the veteran actor is battling Stage 4 cancer.
The actor’s condition has generated widespread reactions, with fans, colleagues and members of the public expressing concern and offering prayers for his recovery.
Herbalist explains his decision
The practitioner noted that treatment outcomes are generally more favourable when serious illnesses are detected at an early stage.
He explained that this applies to both traditional approaches and conventional medical treatment, stressing that advanced illnesses can present significant challenges.
According to him, once a patient’s condition reaches a critical stage, treatment can become uncertain and should not be presented as a guaranteed route to recovery.
He therefore maintained that he would rather decline an offer than accept money for a treatment he could not confidently promise would produce the desired result.
The herbal practitioner’s comments have added another perspective to the ongoing public discussion surrounding Ogogo’s health and the various treatment options being considered for him.
