An X user identified as TommiPrimeX has drawn attention to an  unusual detail about some of the schoolchildren who were recently rescued alongside their teachers in Oyo State.
Recall that on May 15, 2026, suspected bandits attacked three schools in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, abducting 39 pupils and seven teachers.
After spending 56 days in captivity, the victims were eventually rescued safely by Nigerian security operatives, who also arrested those responsible for the abduction.
On July 10, 2026, the rescued schoolchildren and teachers regained their freedom. Photos from the rescue soon circulated widely on social media, sparking numerous reactions, speculations, and competing narratives among Nigerians.
While many people expressed relief and celebrated the safe return of the kidnapped victims, others pointed to what they considered inconsistencies in the images and questioned the official account of the kidnapping and rescue operation.
Among those who reacted was X user @TommiPrimeX, who questioned a particular detail in one of the rescue photographs.
He wondered why some of the children standing on the left side of the picture appeared to be laughing despite having endured what should have been a traumatic experience.
He wrote: “Why are the children on the left side laughing? Nigeria deh pami.”
