Nollywood actor Abimbola Kazeem, better known as Jigan Baba Oja, has reacted after his picture and name appeared on promotional material for an upcoming entertainment event.
The actor clarified that he was not involved in the programme and did not authorise the use of his image.
The event, organised under the TAMPAN Egba Zone, is scheduled for August 29 and is expected to honour the memory of late veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
Several entertainers were listed on the event flyer, with tickets reportedly advertised at different prices.
Actor Denies Involvement
Reacting to the development, Jigan Baba Oja issued a public statement distancing himself from the programme.
He expressed surprise over the appearance of his name and photograph and maintained that he had no connection with the event.
“I, Abimbola Kazeem, popularly known as JiganbabaOja, have no involvement in the matter currently trending. I do not support, nor will I ever be part of such actions for any reason.”
Jigan Speaks on His Reputation
The actor also emphasised the importance of the reputation he has built throughout his career.
He maintained that he would not associate himself with activities merely because they were trending or could attract public attention.
Jigan subsequently appealed to his fans, relatives and supporters to disregard any information suggesting that he would participate in the programme.
He also encouraged the public to rely on his own clarification concerning his involvement with the event.
