Renowned Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has spoken about how her once close relationship with colleague Genevieve Nnaji gradually faded over time.
Speaking on a recent episode of the podcast Tea with Tay, Kate Henshaw noted that their bond, which was once strong during their early years in the industry, eventually weakened without a clear or specific incident to explain the change.
Both actresses rose to prominence in the same era and were widely regarded as two of Nollywood’s most admired and influential stars.
She further explained that she cannot pinpoint exactly what led to the distance between them, suggesting that mistrust may have played a role in the breakdown of their once cordial relationship, even though no definite cause was identified.
She said: “We grew apart. Maybe she had some kind of mistrust about me… I don’t know what happened. I don’t know what came over her,”
However, Kate Henshaw recently stirred public discussion in Nigeria after speaking about surrogacy.
In a recent interview with News Central, the veteran actress expressed concern about cases where women opt for surrogacy without any clear medical reasons.
She referenced businesswoman Ifedayo Agroro, whose viral video on the topic sparked widespread debate online.
She said: “I watched Ife’s video and I kept asking myself, why? She is healthy and doesn’t appear to have any medical issues, so why would she consider that?”
