Early results have emerged from the Osun State governorship election after officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) completed the sorting and counting of ballots at a polling unit in Osogbo Local Government Area.
The results were announced at Polling Unit 39, Ward 4, where Presiding Officer Oyeranmi Deborah declared the votes recorded by the participating political parties.
The Accord Party emerged as the leading party in the polling unit with 65 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 43 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) recorded two votes, while the Action Alliance (AA), African Action Congress (AAC) and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) each secured one vote.
Results Announced at the Polling Unit
- Accord Party – 65 votes
- APC – 43 votes
- ADC – 2 votes
- AA – 1 vote
- AAC – 1 vote
- ZLP – 1 vote
The result gives the Accord Party an early lead over the APC at the polling unit.
However, the figures represent the outcome from only one polling unit and do not indicate the overall winner of the Osun governorship election.
Counting Continues Across Osogbo
While counting had been completed at Polling Unit 39, Ward 4, voting officials at several other polling units across Osogbo were still sorting and counting ballots.
Results from individual polling units will be collated at ward and local government levels before the Independent National Electoral Commission announces the final governorship election result for Osun State.
The exercise remains ongoing as officials continue the collation process across the state.
