A resurfaced video of Apostle Arome Osayi has sparked fresh reactions online amid the ongoing backlash over his recent comment about Nigeria’s purpose as a nation.
In the old video, the founder of the Remnant Christian Network (RCN) recounted what he described as a spiritual encounter in which he was taken to heaven and selected alongside 13 other people for an exclusive meeting with Jesus Christ.
According to Arome, he saw Jesus standing behind what appeared to be a wooden table, with several scrolls placed on it.
He explained that each scroll represented an anointing and mandate previously carried by another person and being passed on to someone else.
The cleric said that when it was his turn to approach Jesus, he was handed a scroll bearing the name of renowned Christian teacher Derek Prince.
Arome said Jesus told him that he had received a global mandate in the area of deliverance and that his authority over demons would be evident wherever he went.
He recounted:
“The name of the person on that scroll was Derek Prince. Derek Prince. So he gave me that scroll.”
He further explained that after receiving the scroll, he saluted Jesus and prepared to leave as others did but he was called back.
Arome noted that Jesus showed him more scrolls which were still yet to be assigned to people and Jesus complained to him about the shortage of men. According to Arome, Jesus was unhappy by this.
The resurfaced video is attracting renewed attention as Arome faces criticism over his recent statement that Nigeria’s calling is revival rather than economic or industrial advancement like China and other developed nations.
The latest reactions have also prompted social media users to revisit some of the cleric’s previous teachings and accounts of his spiritual experiences.
The resurfaced footage has consequently generated discussions among Nigerians, with viewers sharing different views about Arome’s account of his alleged encounter in heaven and the mandate he said he received.
