Veteran Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku, has stirred fresh concern on social media after he was reportedly seen sitting alone by a roadside in Abuja.
The development came after an eyewitness, identified as X user @Anthony Ehilebo, posted a video showing the actor seated in a grassy area while holding what appeared to be a cup.
Although the precise location was not revealed in the initial post, Ehilebo maintained that the footage was recorded in Abuja.
“Hanks Anuku… sighted on the streets of Abuja.. Mental health Coverage in Nigeria is shiit.” @AnthonyEhilebo wrote.
The clip rapidly gained attention online, prompting mixed reactions from social media users.
One netizen, @LSdolor13846, warned against recycling old videos to generate engagement, saying:
“Pls ppl should stop posting things like this for engagements, likes n views, this was the same video someone posted few yrs ago wen dey said dey saw him in Edo state Benin city n he was on set dat day.”
Responding to the allegation, Ehilebo rejected the suggestion that the footage wasn’t old, insisting he personally recorded the video and that it reflected the actor’s current condition.
“There was no set.. I saw him and made this video myself.. He was pissed.. and did not look good.. He needs help.. mental help assistance…”
Another X user, @gstan86, questioned whether the scene was part of a movie production. However, Ehilebo dismissed that possibility, replying:
“No it is not.. I made this video myself.”
In a subsequent post, Ehilebo expressed deeper concern over the actor’s welfare, writing:
“Why is Hanks Anuku laying on the road in Wuse 2… is there any help that can be rendered. or does he have to die too? It’s 5.47pm in front of Barkangizo.”
