Tanzania’s Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr Dorothy Gwajima, has spoken out against an online campaign calling for Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo to leave her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
The minister reacted to the campaign in a post that circulated online on Thursday, August 14, 2026, cautioning Tanzanians involved in the movement against creating unnecessary conflict with Juma Jux’s family.
Dr Gwajima appeared particularly critical of those supporting the campaign, questioning their decision to interfere in the couple’s marriage.
She wrote:
“Animals, laziness, are you looking for conflict with your sisters-in-law or in-laws?”
The controversy began after social media users noticed that Juma Jux appeared to have lost significant weight.
Although the singer reportedly gave his own explanation for the physical change, some fans remained unconvinced and began directing their concerns towards his Nigerian wife, Priscilla Ojo.
The online calls eventually developed into the “Free Juma Jux” campaign, with some Tanzanians demanding that Priscilla leave the singer.
Addressing the issue, Dr Gwajima explained that the campaign was based on claims that Jux’s weight loss was connected to his marriage.
She said:
“For those who don’t know this saga, there is a group of people online who have started a campaign called Free Juma Jux because he seems to have lost weight and therefore his wife Priscilla is torturing him.”
The minister’s comments have added a new dimension to the ongoing social media debate surrounding the celebrity couple, whose marriage has continued to attract attention from fans in both Tanzania and Nigeria.
