The Christian community in Southern Nigeria has been thrown into mourning following the death of Pastor Monday Omokaro, a pastor of Deeper Life Bible Church.
Although the cause of his death remains unclear, reports shared by people who knew him on Facebook claimed that he passed away on May 19, 2026.
Pastor Monday Omokaro served as the Edo State Youth Coordinator of the Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC) and was widely respected for his evangelical work and impactful leadership.
He was well regarded within the Christian community for his dedication to spreading the gospel and mentoring young believers.
In a Facebook post shared on May 19, 2026, Uyi Erhahon paid tribute to the late cleric, stating that he had fought a good fight of faith and finished his race.
Uyi praised Pastor Monday for his impactful Christian service, stating that he took the gospel to schools, actively spearheaded the Deeper Life Schools Outreach (DLSO), and brought many people to Christ.
He added that the ministry was marked by numerous testimonies of healing, deliverance, and various miracles.
He wrote: “Your passion for the salvation of souls was never in doubt. “Your commitment to prayers, both personal and corporate, was undeniable.
“You were a good Shepherd in words, indeed and in truth. “Pastor Monday Omokaro, you have heeded the final call and departed to take your place among the saints triumphant albeit you have left a vacuum on this side of eternity, in DCLM Edo State and DLSO, Edo State.”
Osazuwa advised religious leaders to prioritise adequate rest while also encouraging church members to intentionally look after their spiritual leaders. He stressed the need for proper care and support within the church community.
In his words:
“We lost Pastor Monday O. Having seen the internet flooded with his pictures, I guess it’s true. I was with him this Friday, and he prayed with us all through the vigil.
“Our leaders should always take out time to rest. The church can merge Tuesday and Saturday Workers’ meetings. And members should make it a point of responsibility to care for their leaders.”
