Popular Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa, famously recognised for portraying police officers in movies has spoken out to debunk widespread reports alleging that he had died.
The false claim emerged after an obituary poster announcing his supposed passing began making the rounds on social media, leaving many of his fans worried and uncertain.
In response, Ajasa took to Instagram, where he shared a video to clear the air. Speaking directly to his followers, he confirmed that the rumours were untrue, saying:
“I’m still very much alive and in good health.” The actor strongly condemned those spreading false information about him and his colleagues, adding: “To everyone posting my obituary around, I’m saying back to the sender to you and your family.”
Ajasa also used the opportunity to reassure his supporters in Nigeria and across the world, saying: “Good day everyone, my name still remains Owolabi Ajasa, your Nollywood police officer. I want to tell all my fans both in Nigeria and abroad that I’m still much alive. I’m alive hale and hearty. There’s nothing wrong with me.”
