A video featuring the late National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Organising Secretary, Toba Ajiboye, widely known as Toba Ijaya, during a tense exchange with some of his colleagues has emerged on social media.
The footage has been making the rounds on Elon Musk’s X platform and is said to have been recorded in April this year.
The video shows Toba Ijaya at the centre of a rowdy gathering, where he appeared to be making efforts to restore calm as tempers flared and voices grew louder.
In the clip, he is surrounded by fellow NURTW members who seemed to be engaged in a disagreement while speaking in their native language.
The atmosphere remained charged throughout, with Toba Ijaya trying to intervene and bring the situation under control despite the ongoing commotion.

How Toba Ijaya was assassinated
Ajiboye passed away on Tuesday, July 14, after suffering gunshot injuries sustained during an attack carried out by yet-to-be-identified gunmen. The incident was reported to have happened on Sunday night while he was returning from his childhood neighbourhood in Fadeyi.
According to reports, the attackers ambushed his vehicle around Ikorodu Road and opened fire, leaving the white car extensively damaged by bullets.
While early reports indicated that Ajiboye and the other occupants of the vehicle had survived the shooting, subsequent updates later confirmed that the NURTW official eventually died from the injuries he sustained.
