President Bola Tinubu has named Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as the Vice Chairman II of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
The development was confirmed on Saturday, August 22, 2026, as the governing party steps up its preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections and begins putting a more detailed structure around President Tinubu’s re-election campaaign.
APC sets up 2027 campaign structure
The newly constituted APC Presidential Campaign Council is made up of 223 members and is expected to coordinate major aspects of the president’s campaign across Nigeria.
Its duties will include political mobilisation, engagement with key stakeholders, administrative coordination and the organisation of campaign activities across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The council is expected to work alongside APC governors, lawmakers at the National Assembly and grassroots political structures as the party seeks to build a coordinated national campaign.
A major part of the campaign strategy will be to consolidate the APC’s existing support while highlighting the achievements of the Tinubu administration under its Renewed Hope agenda.
