Nollywood veteran actor Jide Kosoko has expressed appreciation to Nigerians and well-wishers who have continued to pray for his colleague, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, amid his health battle.
Kosoko spoke during a gathering of Nollywood stars on Friday, August 21, 2026, where colleagues came together to pray for the veteran actor.
He said the overwhelming support Ogogo has received from Nigerians at home and abroad showed the love and concern people have for the actor.
“We are overwhelmed with the show of love towards our brother, Actor Hassan Ogogo,” Kosoko said.

Kosoko also revealed that the support for Ogogo has extended to prominent Nigerians, including First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.
According to him, the First Lady personally reached out by telephone to express her concern over the actor’s condition.
He described the gesture as another indication of the widespread concern surrounding Ogogo’s health.
Senator Yayi pays Ogogo’s medical bills
The veteran actor further disclosed that Senator Olamilekan Yayi has been providing significant financial support for Ogogo’s medical treatment.
Kosoko said Yayi had been taking care of the actor’s medical expenses and even made arrangements for him to travel to India for specialist treatment.
However, the plan could not go ahead after doctors reportedly determined that Ogogo was not fit to travel.
With the proposed overseas treatment no longer possible, Kosoko said the Nollywood community and other Nigerians have continued to hope and pray for Ogogo’s recovery.
The development comes after Ogogo’s family publicly disclosed his serious health condition, prompting an outpouring of prayers and support from fans, colleagues and well-wishers.
