Music mogul Soso Soberekon has stirred reactions online after offering singer Peter Okoye a whopping N500 million to face his estranged twin brother, Paul Okoye, in a boxing match.
The surprising proposal came on Sunday night while Peter was performing on stage.
Soberekon, who was among those watching from the crowd, raised his phone above his head and turned the screen towards the singer so he could clearly see the message.
The message boldly read:
“500 Million Naira to fight your twin in a boxing match.”
Peter appeared to notice the challenge and responded by smiling and waving it off before continuing with his performance.
The unusual offer came amid the ongoing and increasingly public dispute between Peter and Paul, the former members of the popular music duo P-Square.
The brothers have been involved in a series of disagreements, with their music catalogue, management and finances becoming major points of contention.
Peter recently accused Paul and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who previously managed P-Square, of allegedly diverting music royalties he claimed were owed to him.
Soberekon’s challenge has therefore attracted attention because of its timing, coming as the long-running disagreement between the twin brothers continues to generate reactions from fans and other figures in the entertainment industry.
Peter, however, did not appear to take up the N500 million boxing challenge, choosing instead to smile and wave off the proposal.
