American rapper, producer, and fashion designer Kanye West, who is also known as Ye, has been accused of assault by a model identified as Jenn.
In an interview with the BBC, Jenn described her account of events, alleging that the incident took place while she was working with the music star on the set of one of his music videos several years ago.
She stated that the alleged incident happened in 2010 during the filming of a Kanye West music video. According to her account, she claimed that the rapper choked her and inserted his fingers into her mouth while the shoot was ongoing.
With tears as she recounted the experience, she alleged that Kanye West repeatedly pushed his fingers into her mouth. Jenn further explained that she attempted to keep her tongue out of the way as the situation unfolded.
Kanye West reacts to allegation
The BBC reached out to Kanye West for a response regarding Jenn’s allegations. Although the rapper did not personally respond, his legal representative addressed the claims on his behalf.
According to his lawyer, the interaction between Jenn and Kanye West was consensual. He further stated that Jenn did not express any objection at the time and firmly denied any wrongdoing by the music star.
Fans react to Kanye West and Jenn’s case
The allegations quickly triggered a wave of mixed reactions across social media, with users expressing differing and often conflicting opinions on the matter.
Some questioned why Jenn waited 16 years before speaking publicly about the alleged incident, with several commenters suggesting that she may be motivated by financial interest in relation to the rapper.
Others, however, insisted that the matter should be properly examined by the courts to determine whether the claims hold merit.
Meanwhile, some supporters argued that Jenn may not have felt safe or able to speak out earlier, citing the influence and power dynamics that often exist in such situations.
They also pointed out that hostile reactions to allegations of this nature can discourage survivors of assault from coming forward and sharing their experiences.
