The burial preparations for late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo have continued to draw public attention, with social media users reacting to a video showing residents gathering around the coffin that conveyed his remains to his hometown ahead of his final rites.
The Nigerian film industry was plunged into grief following the death of Alexx Ekubo on May 11, 2026. The actor reportedly passed away after battling metastatic kidney cancer, leaving fans, colleagues, and loved ones devastated.
In celebration of his life and legacy, a service of songs was organised in Lagos on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
Meanwhile, arrangements were concluded for his wake-keeping and burial ceremonies scheduled for June 17 and 18 in Arochukwu, Abia State, where he would be laid to rest.
