A video capturing the arrival of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo’s body in his hometown of Arochukwu ahead of his burial has emerged online, drawing emotional reactions from fans and well-wishers.
Activities marking the actor’s final farewell commenced with a Service of Songs held in Lagos State, where relatives, friends, colleagues, and loved ones gathered to celebrate his life and pay heartfelt tributes to his memory.
Footage currently circulating on social media shows the moment Ekubo’s remains reached Arochukwu. Upon arrival, the body was taken directly to the royal palace, where traditional prayers and blessings were offered in his honour.

In the video, the monarch and members of his council of chiefs were seen standing beside the white casket as they spoke and prayed for the deceased actor.
The casket remained inside the white vehicle that transported his body to the palace during the solemn ceremony.
Also present were pallbearers from Ebony Funeral Home, who stood ready beside the vehicle to carry out the ceremonial handling of the casket and other funeral rites.
Vintage, known to be one of Alexx Ekubo’s close friends, stood before the casket throughout the proceedings, attentively listening as the monarch addressed those gathered.
It will be recalled that actor Deyemi Okanlawon earlier shared footage showing the moment Ekubo’s body was retrieved from the mortuary before beginning the journey to his hometown.
Upon reaching Arochukwu, the late actor was received with a moving procession made up of family members and friends dressed in black T-shirts. Many carried framed photographs of him as they accompanied the convoy conveying his body through the town.
