The Mount Zion movie family is once again in mourning following the death of Omooba Oluwasegun Oyeyemi, widely known for his role as Flora’s husband in the beloved gospel film Abattoir.
His passing carries a particularly painful weight given that the actress who played Flora alongside him, Toluwalope Adegboyega-Alagbe, also passed away earlier this year on February 4, 2025, following complications from a tragic car accident that occurred on December 26, 2024, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
That same crash also claimed the life of one of her two-year-old twin daughters, a loss that devastated the gospel film community and drew heartfelt tributes from Evangelist Mike Bamiloye and Joshua Mike-Bamiloye, among others.
Toluwalope’s death had come shortly after the passing of another Abattoir actor, Moses Korede Are, fondly remembered by fans as Baba Gbenro.
Now, with the death of Omooba Oluwasegun Oyeyemi, the Abattoir cast has suffered yet another devastating blow within a relatively short period, leaving fans and colleagues deeply shaken.
According to the funeral announcement, Oyeyemi’s Service of Songs will hold on Thursday, July 2, 2026, while his burial is scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2026, in Ibadan.
News of his passing has triggered an outpouring of grief online, with many fans of the iconic gospel film expressing shock and sorrow at losing yet another beloved member of the Abattoir family in such quick succession.
