Nollywood actress Chioma Akpotha is mourning the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.
The actress shared the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post on Friday, October 2, 2026, as she opened up about the pain of losing a beloved member of her family.
Chioma described her father as a source of comfort and someone who held a special place in her life.
Actress Reflects on Losing Both Parents
The movie star struggled to find the right words to express the depth of her grief while remembering her parents.
According to Chioma, her mother passed away 13 years ago, making the death of her father another deeply painful experience for her and her family.
“My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord,” she wrote.
The actress followed the announcement with an emotional question that reflected the loneliness she felt after losing another parent.
“So na only me bayi?”
Chioma Remembers Her Father
Chioma made it clear that her father was much more than just a parent to her, referring to him affectionately as her “daddy”, “papa’m”, “obara’m”, and comfort.
While grieving his death, she also expressed gratitude for the life he lived and the years he spent with his children and grandchildren.
The actress recalled some of the memorable moments she shared with her father, particularly during the later stages of his life.
“No matter how many years we are given with a parent, we still want one more conversation, one more embrace, one more day,” she said.

Chioma also appealed to the public to remember her siblings and the entire Chukwuka family in their prayers as they come to terms with the loss.
She noted that details about her father’s funeral would be made public once the family was ready to announce them.
