A woman identified as @londonhughesy on TikTok has shared an emotional story about her late brother, Alex, who reportedly died just six days after being diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer.
The lady used her TikTok page to create awareness about symptoms of the disease that are often ignored or overlooked by many people.
Speaking about her brother’s health struggle, she explained that he appeared healthy before the illness worsened.
According to her, he was a tall and physically big man standing at 6’4”, but gradually began losing weight unexpectedly.
She revealed that one of the major warning signs he experienced was a persistent “hollow” cough that lasted for several months despite not having flu or cold symptoms.
The woman also stated that her brother, like many men, avoided going to the hospital and continued working even as his health declined.
Listing the symptoms he experienced before his diagnosis, she pointed to:
- A lingering “hollow” cough that persisted for months without any signs of cold or flu.
- Sudden and noticeable weight loss despite his naturally large body frame.
According to her:
“He had a cough with no cold for a few months. Yeah, if you find yourself having a cough, I know it sounds crazy, but a cough was the main thing.
“And after that, he lost weight randomly. My brother was 52, and he was tall, 6’4″, big guy, and he started losing weight. And he had this cough that wouldn’t go.”
Her video has attracted widespread attention online, especially following the reported death of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, whose family said he battled advanced metastatic kidney cancer before his passing.
