The last appearance of Alexx Ekubo on a movie set has resurfaced online, sparking fresh reactions across social media.
Since the news of the Nigerian actor’s passing was officially confirmed, several colleagues and friends within the entertainment industry have continued to pay tribute to him, celebrating his life and contributions to Nollywood.
Recall that on May 12, 2026, Alexx Ekubo was confirmed dead after reportedly battling liver cancer for over a year, a condition that had kept him away from the public eye and social media for quite some time.
Prominent figures in Nollywood, including Funke Akindele, Rita Dominic, Uche Jombo, Mercy Johnson, Bolanle Ninalowo, and many others have expressed their grief over his tragic death.
The resurfaced video shows Alexx Ekubo on his last movie set, appearing energetic and with no visible signs of illness. Many fans had anticipated a strong comeback following his long absence from screens, but sadly, his journey was cut short by his passing.
In the video, the actor was seen arriving at a movie set 30 minutes behind schedule, where he lightheartedly apologised to the cast and crew in a playful way.
Reports indicated that he had been working with producer and director Dabby Chimere in January 2024. The release of Adanne in February, a project in which he starred, was expected to mark a gentle return and the beginning of a new phase in the Nollywood actor’s career.
However, it ultimately became his final screen appearance. Colleagues who worked alongside him on set remembered him as cheerful and full of life, constantly sharing laughter and uplifting those around him.
For many fans and viewers, the now-viral clip has become a touching yet painful memory, reflecting the warmth and happiness he carried despite his health struggles.
