Nigerian gospel artist, Ebuka Songs, has joined others in paying tribute to the recently deceased Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo.
The news became one of the most viral stories in the Nigerian entertainment industry on Tuesday, May 8, 2026, when multiple reports confirmed that Alexx Ekubo had passed away.
The Nollywood star was reportedly battling liver cancer for over a year before his eventual death.
The prominent crooner took to his Facebook page to share a heartfelt message.
He acknowledged that the late Alexx Ekubo was a devoted Christian who often reached out to him to engage in worship sessions. He also expressed deep sorrow over the actor’s passing and prayed for his peaceful rest.
He wrote:
“The screens and the applause was a man who genuinely longed for the presence of Jesus. I remember when you reached out, not for anything else, but simply because you wanted us to worship together, And we did.
Those moments now feel even more precious.
This hurts, Truly
It is hard to write this with dry eyes
But I am comforted by the hope that those who belong to Christ are never lost.
Rest in peace Uncle Alex.”
