Three prominent Nollywood stars have come together to mourn the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly called Ogogo, sharing emotional memories of the late Yoruba movie icon in a video that has attracted attention online.
Ibrahim Chatta, Itele and Kelvin Ikeduba featured in the tribute, which Itele uploaded on Instagram on Friday, August 28, 2026. The actors spoke about Ogogo’s influence in the industry and the personal qualities that made him respected by colleagues and fans.
Itele, Ikeduba speak on Ogogo’s legacy
Itele described Ogogo as one of the pioneers who made a lasting impact on Yoruba cinema. He noted that the industry had lost a remarkable figure and prayed for strength and comfort for Ogogo’s family, particularly his children.
Ikeduba also reflected on the veteran actor’s influence, noting that Ogogo inspired several younger performers as well as colleagues who worked alongside him.
He expressed hope that the actor’s memory would remain alive among the people he touched throughout his career.
Chatta recalls emotional encounter
Chatta shared a particularly emotional account while remembering his relationship with Ogogo.
The actor recalled an incident at the funeral of actress Bimpe Adekola, popularly known as Ireti. According to him, those present were gathered in a church to mourn the actress when a woman walked in crying and appealed to whoever was responsible for the deaths of entertainment personalities to spare Ogogo.
Chatta said the incident remained memorable because it demonstrated the level of love and admiration people had for Ogogo even before his death.
He further portrayed Ogogo as a man known for honesty and integrity, stressing that his reputation remained intact even after his passing.
The three actors’ tribute has since generated emotional reactions from fans, many of whom joined them in remembering the late Nollywood veteran.
