A Nigerian woman identified as tosintravels_agency on Instagram has opened up about her past memories of NURTW Organizing Secretary, Toba Ajiboye, who recently died after sustaining gunshot injuries in an attack by assailants.
According to previous reports, Toba Ajiboye, popularly known as Ijaya, tragically passed away on the July 14, 2026. His death followed the gunshot wounds he suffered when suspected gunmen reportedly attacked him.
The incident occurred on Sunday night as he was said to be making his way back from his childhood neighbourhood in Fadeyi.
Reports indicate that the attackers intercepted the vehicle carrying him and other passengers before shooting at those inside.
While early reports suggested that Ijaya and the other occupants of the vehicle had survived the attack, it was later confirmed that the NURTW Chieftain eventually succumbed to the serious injuries he sustained during the incident.
Following the tragic development, the Instagram woman reflected on her personal experiences and memories of the late Toba Ijaya, sharing claims based on what she knew about him in the past.
She recalled that during the 90s, Toba Ijaya was a well-known champion in mushin, claiming he ruled and dominated the area.
She also expressed her shock that Toba Ijaya, who according to her was believed to carry heavy charms, could be killed so easily through gunshot wounds.
