Onuoha explained that he successfully answered 12 out of the 15 questions on the show, earning ₦1 million, which he described as a huge amount of money at the time.
He revealed that his performance impressed Frank Edoho, who later encouraged and praised him backstage after the show.
According to the lawyer, Edoho told him he was proud of how well he performed and also commended his command of the English language.
He added that the TV host gave him his personal card, something he claimed Edoho rarely did for contestants.
Onuoha praises Frank Edoho
Describing Edoho as someone he deeply admires, the lawyer said the broadcaster carries himself with style, confidence, and class.
He also stated that he has always admired Edoho’s communication skills and listened carefully to him over the years to improve his own spoken English.
Part of his statement read:
“In March 2010, I was privileged to share a platform with Mr Frank Edoho, I was fresh from the law school and serving in the NYSC scheme at the time, I was pretty young too. I did exceptionally well on the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire game show, out of 15 questions, I answered 12 and walked away with 1 million naira, a huge sum of money at the time.”
He continued:
“Back stage, he encouraged me, told me how proud he was of my exceptional performance and also did commend my use of the English language. In fact, he gave me his card.”
The lawyer also recalled Edoho telling him:
“I rarely give people that come to this show my card, but you my friend, I will give it to you.”
Lawyer reacts to Frank Edoho’s marriage controversy
Speaking on the ongoing issues involving Edoho and his former wife, Onuoha noted that marriage is not an easy institution and expressed hope that the controversy would eventually pass.
He further quoted French writer Michel de Montaigne while discussing the challenges associated with marriage.
According to him:
“Marriage isn’t an easy institution, it is the mercies of the Lord that keepeth us all.”
He added:
“It was the French writer Michel de Montaigne who instructively remarked– ‘Marriage is like a cage, one sees the birds outside desperate to get in and those inside desperate to get out.’”
Onuoha concluded by expressing confidence that Frank Edoho would overcome the current situation, saying:
“I am of a firm conviction that this phase too shall pass and that his greatest songs are still unsung.”
