Fans have expressed deep concern and even began praying for Islamic singer Saoti Arewa after noticing his recent appearance in a video that surfaced online.
In the viral clip, the singer was seen alongside his band members preparing for a performance. Dressed casually, he had his shirt unbuttoned, revealing a white singlet underneath.
His stomach appeared visibly swollen beneath the shirt, while his eyes looked unusually puffy, sparking concern among fans. He was also captured praying with his band members after they concluded their preparations for the show.
Reacting to the video, fans expressed concern over his appearance and questioned whether he was in good health. Some speculated that he could be living with sickle cell disease, linking his puffy eyes and swollen-looking stomach to the condition.
They also referenced past claims that he had previously spoken about his health struggles, describing him as a sickle cell warrior.
However, some users who appeared more knowledgeable about medical conditions suggested that he might be battling ascites, a condition characterised by fluid buildup in the abdomen and often associated with liver disease, cancer, or heart failure.
They further noted that swollen or puffy eyes could also be a symptom of the condition. Meanwhile, many fans continued to pray for his recovery, citing recent losses in the entertainment industry.
Another fan remarked that people should be grateful the singer is still alive, describing him as someone who has reportedly been living with sickle cell disease.
