The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed when the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be released.
According to the board, candidates who wrote the exam on Thursday, April 16, 2026, should expect their results before midnight on Friday, April 17.
This update was contained in a brief statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, who noted that a formal announcement would be made once the results are fully processed and available.
The board also stated that all updates would be communicated through its official channels.
The post read:
“RELEASE OF RESULTS FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE 2026 UTME

Notably, this marks a change from JAMB’s usual practice.
In previous years, candidates typically waited until the entire examination period, often lasting up to two weeks, was completed before results were released in bulk.
The reason for this new approach remains unclear, but the development has surprised many candidates, especially those who expected to wait longer before accessing their scores.
