Activist and African Action Congress presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has responded to Afrobeat superstar Davido following their social media clash over comments about Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The controversy began after Sowore criticised Adeleke’s leadership during a television interview, describing the governor as someone with “nothing upstairs.”
Sowore also questioned claims about road construction in Osun State and alleged that the affairs of the state were being controlled by members of the Adeleke family.
Davido subsequently reacted to Sowore on social media, calling him “arindin,” a Yoruba term commonly used to describe someone considered foolish or lacking sense.
Sowore, however, did not back down. Instead, he redirected the insult towards Governor Adeleke while also questioning the governor’s academic history.
The activist claimed that Adeleke obtained the equivalent of a General Educational Development (GED) qualification after previously serving as a Nigerian senator.
Sowore also criticised Adeleke over his reported support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, despite the governor’s affiliation with the Accord Party.
He alleged that the decision was connected to the Adeleke family’s political interests in Osun State.
In his response, Sowore wrote:
“The real arindin is your uncle, @AAdeleke_01, who had to go back and obtain the equivalent of a GED after he had already served as a Nigerian Senator.
The real arindin is your uncle who chose @officialABAT as his presidential candidate, apparently hoping that imbecilic political loyalty would allow your family to continue treating Osun State as a private estate to finance your extravagant lifestyle.
All of you are the same anyway, oppressive, corrupt, incompetent, and entitled spoilt brats, feeding off the pain, suffering, and sorrow of Nigerians. But the tables will turn. The Nigerian people will not endure this forever.”
The latest exchange has further intensified the political debate surrounding the Adeleke administration ahead of the Osun State governorship election.
