News of his passing emerged on social media after popular actor and filmmaker Mr Latin announced the sad development in a brief Facebook post.
The announcement was later confirmed by the late actor’s family in an official statement.
According to the statement, Oyewole died on Friday, May 29, 2026. Although the family did not disclose the cause of death, they expressed gratitude to Allah for the life he lived and prayed for mercy, forgiveness, and eternal rest for him.
The family described the deceased as a devoted father, grandfather, husband, brother, and uncle whose life touched many people.
They also announced plans for his final burial rites, stating that his Janazah and interment would take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
The burial is scheduled to hold at his residence in Oke Orogbo, Lalupon, Ibadan, in Oyo State, where family members, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers are expected to gather to pay their last respects.
Oyewole’s death has deepened the grief currently being felt across Nollywood, coming shortly after reports of the passing of veteran actor and lecturer Patrick Okoye, popularly known as Energy.
