Former Nigerian federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted to the death of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Lagos State Organizing Secretary, Toba Ajiboye, also known as Toba Ijaya.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain took to his X handle, formerly known as Twitter, on July 22, 2026, to pay tribute to the late NURTW official. He condemned Toba Ijaya’s assassination, describing the tragic incident as a national tragedy.
Moreover, Shehu Sani pointed out that Toba Ijaya earned the support and trust of the thousands of people who gathered at his home to pay their last respects.
According to the former lawmaker, the large turnout was a testament to the conduct of his life, service, and legacy as a NURTW official.
He wrote: “The Murder of Comrade Toba Ajiboye of the Lagos NURTW is a national tragedy. The thousands of people that troop to his home is a testament to the conduct of his life, service and legacy. My deepest condolences to his family and the NURTW members. May his soul rest in peace. Ameen.”

How lower can you go SINator? You’ll don’t even hide your stupidity anymore, you made it obvious for the people to know we don’t have value for a sane society.
One day you will call the death of Bello Turji a national tragedy because he is a national asset.
You’ll will end with cancer cos thats what you’re to the society.”
