Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Nomy has been disqualified from the reality show following repeated violations of the programme’s rules and instructions.
Nomy, whose real name is Whitney Nneoma Chukwu, was instructed to leave the ‘Show Ya Sef’ house on Monday after committing another breach linked to her Benchwarmer punishment.
The 26-year-old had been ordered to sit on a designated bench and wear a prescribed vest after finishing last in a recent Head of House challenge. However, Big Brother confronted her after she abandoned both items.
“Why have you left your bench and vest behind, what’s your intention?” Big Brother asked.
Nomy Had Received Several Warnings
The latest incident followed a series of warnings and disciplinary actions over Nomy’s conduct in the house.
Earlier in the season, she was punished for failing to follow the conditions attached to her Benchwarmer role.
The punishment required her to wear the assigned outfit, remain on the designated bench and perform cleaning duties.
On August 9, Big Brother issued Nomy a strike, describing it as her “last and final warning” over her repeated defiance.
Some of the restrictions were later relaxed after she apologised, but Nomy continued to receive cautions over lateness, disobedience and failure to take part in certain compulsory activities.
Her latest violation eventually led to her disqualification. She was given 30 minutes to gather her belongings before leaving the house.
Nomy Loses ₦160 Million Prize
Nomy becomes the first housemate to be disqualified on disciplinary grounds this season.
Her removal also means she is no longer in contention for the ₦160 million grand prize.
Her exit came just one day after Gerard Adebija was evicted during Sunday’s live show, leaving 15 housemates battling for a place in the season finale.
Who Is Nomy?
Nomy, 26, is a fashion designer and entrepreneur from Anambra State who was raised in Lagos.
She is associated with the fashion label Ambition by Witme and studied sociology in Kumasi, Ghana.
Throughout her time on the show, Nomy attracted considerable attention for her outspoken personality and repeated disagreements over house rules. Her conduct divided viewers, with some defending her while others supported Big Brother’s disciplinary measures.
With her disqualification, Nomy’s journey towards the ₦160 million prize has come to an unexpected end as the remaining housemates continue their battle for the grand prize.
