A video believed to capture one of the final public appearances of the late NURTW Organising Secretary, Toba Ajiboye, widely known as Toba Ijaya, has emerged on social media.
The touching footage was said to have been taken during the traditional wedding ceremony of the NURTW leader and his wife, the mother of his children, held in April.
In the video, Toba Ijaya appeared cheerful as he sprayed money on his wife while she danced happily in the presence of family members and other guests. In light of his tragic death, the once-joyful occasion has taken on a deeply emotional meaning.
According to reports, Ajiboye passed away on Tuesday, July 14, after suffering gunshot injuries sustained during an attack allegedly carried out by unidentified gunmen. The incident was said to have happened on Sunday night while he was returning from his childhood neighbourhood in Fadeyi.
According to reports, the attackers intercepted his vehicle near Ikorodu Road before opening fire, leaving the white car riddled with bullet holes.
While early reports claimed that Ajiboye and the other occupants of the vehicle had survived the attack, subsequent updates later confirmed that the NURTW official eventually died from the injuries he sustained.
