A Nigerian man identified as @udeochusp on X (formerly known as Twitter) has disclosed how Lieutenant Felix Ademe Isaac lost his life during the rescue operation for the kidnapped schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
On Monday, July 13, 2026, he made a lengthy post on the social media platform, revealing in detail how the gallant military officer died during the opening phase of the rescue mission.
He first clarified that Lieutenant Felix died well before the recent rescue of the abducted victims in Oyo State. According to his account, the military officer passed away on June 6, 2026, but was buried on July 10, 2026, being the same day the captives regained their freedom.
He explained that Lieutenant Felix Ademe Isaac tragically lost his life while leading the initial assault team during the rescue operation.
According to @udeochusp, the Nigerian Army officer was at the forefront of the assault, firing the first shots at the kidnappers’ hideout.
Unfortunately, his convoy reportedly ran into improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and landmines planted by the terrorists.
He added that Lieutenant Felix sustained severe injuries during the opening phase of the mission and sadly later died from a gunshot wound.
He wrote:
“Let me now explain how Lieutenant Felix Ademe Isaac lost his life during the operation to rescue the 44 abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State.
I first posted about his dêath which carried “June 6”, but some people claimed it was false because the rescue operation was carried out on July 10. They insisted that no soldier died and that the entire story was scripted.
Lieutenant Felix Ademe Isaac was a 28-year-old Nigerian Army officer who tragically lost his life while leading the initial assault team during the rescue mission of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State.
Under the leadership of Major General Chinedu Ralph Nnebeife, a multi-agency security team launched an intelligence-led operation in the Old Oyo National Park.
Lt. Isaac was at the forefront of the assault, courageously leading the breach and firing the first shots at the kidnappers’ hideout.
During the operation, his convoy ran into improvised explôsive devices (IEDs) and landmines planted by the terrorists. He sustained fatal injuries during the early phase of the mission and later dîed from a gün shot.
Lt. Isaac was laid to rest with full military honours on July 10, 2026; the same day the 44 victims regained their freedom….though dïed on June 6. He was buried at the 23rd Armoured Brigade Cemetery in Yola, Adamawa State.
After 56 days in captivity, all 44 pupils, students, and teachers were successfully rescued unharmed without the payment of any ransom.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State paid glowing tribute to Lt. Isaac’s exceptional bravery, publicly acknowledging his ultimate sacrifice during an official briefing.

I even heard he was already planning his wedding before this mission.”
