A close friend of late Nigerian juju-highlife singer St Janet has spoken about the singer’s final days, saying she went through immense hardship before her passing.
The emotional tribute was shared on Sunday, August 2, 2026, by the friend, identified on social media as Nofaklife, who described the loss as heartbreaking.
In her post, she appealed to Nigerians to pray for St Janet’s soul, saying the late singer endured many challenges before her death. She also urged people not to abandon those who need help during difficult times.
“Nigerians, please help me pray for St Janet my friend, she suffered before she eventually died. She was tested. She tried. Pls pray to God Almighty to forgive all her sins and also give her eternal rest.”
She also expressed her grief over the singer’s passing.
“I am not feeling fine at all, so St Janet my friend is gone and I wouldn’t see her anymore oooo.”
St Janet was widely known for her song Faaji Plus, which attracted controversy due to its explicit lyrics and led to bans by regulatory bodies, including PMAN and the Lagos State House of Assembly.
A now-deleted video of the singer’s friend recounting what St Janet went through before her death went viral online.
