Ahead of the burial of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, emergency road construction has commenced on the road leading to his family house in Arochukwu, Abia State, with videos of the ongoing work circulating widely on social media.
Footage shared by TikTok user @loloprince7 captures the scale of the construction effort, showing bulldozers and heavy-duty equipment grading the red earth road, while multiple tipper trucks loaded with granite and gravel line up along the route.
One clip shows a truck offloading crushed stones onto the ground, indicating active work to rehabilitate and surface the road before the burial ceremony.
A signpost visible in one of the images reads “7 Ekubo Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwuka Ujari, Arochukwu” — confirming the location as the road directly connected to the late actor’s family residence.
The construction effort has been widely praised online, with many viewing it as a move to aid seamless movement during his the late actor’s funeral.
A few others also questioned why the road had been abandoned since just to be worked on now because of the burial.
The late actor’s burial in Arochukwu is expected to draw significant attendance from the Nigerian entertainment community and beyond.
