A woman on TikTok, identified by the username God’s Mercy, has raised awareness on her page, warning Nigerians against using bowls and buckets in hotel rooms.
According to her, the reason behind her caution has sparked mixed reactions online, with some people agreeing with her claims while others strongly disagreeing.
She alleged that such items are sometimes subjected to unpleasant and unhygienic use by previous hotel occupants. She claimed that some guests may have urinated in them, or in worse cases, defecated in them.
The TikToker, who is known for sharing informative content with her followers, advised people to avoid using these items in Nigerian hotels.
She said: “You see, nobody is stopping you from lodging in a hotel but you see this bowl and bucket, be careful. To be on the safe side, if you see them in the hotel restroom, do not use them. The reason is that some people pee and poop on these items, so when you see them, just leave them.
“If the shower is flowing, just bath yourself from the shower or if the tap is flowing, just use your hands to bath yourself. If you see what they are doing with those items I showed you now, you wouldn’t want them to touch yourself.”
