Renowned Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari, has revealed details from a private journal she kept about the late Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo.
The Ghanaian movie star joined the growing list of celebrities mourning Alexx Ekubo’s passing. Buari disclosed that she had been keeping a secret journal in which she documented the memories, moments, and experiences she shared with the late actor.
While paying tribute to him on her Instagram page, she revealed that she had been writing about Alexx in the journal for a long time and even gave him the name “liam” in case the journal ever got lost.
She also recounted the actor’s warm reaction after she told him about the journal and the new name she had chosen for him. According to her, Alexx Ekubo smiled and said he liked the name “liam.”
Nadia revealed that one of her deepest regrets was not making more effort to reach out after Alexx unexpectedly became withdrawn.
She explained that the actor had slowly distanced himself from those around him, and rather than insisting on reconnecting, she chose to honour what she assumed was his desire for space and privacy.
Reflecting on it emotionally, she wrote, “You withdrew so suddenly, and I didn’t push. I thought I was respecting your space.”
Following news of his passing, she revealed that she has been consumed by sorrow and regret, questioning whether she could have done more to reach out. “I wish I had checked on you more,” she painfully admitted.
