A fresh round of online conversations has trailed the wedding involving Aboy, the autistic adopted son of Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, leader of Omega Power Ministries (OPM).
Only a few days after the ceremony, the cleric made fresh disclosures, including assigning a new name to the young man and responding to widespread questions about his actual age.
The marriage had earlier stirred strong reactions across social media, with supporters celebrating the union while critics raised concerns and differing opinions about the circumstances.
The development also drew attention due to the financial and material support reportedly given to the bride, which many described as generous and unusual.
In a recent Facebook post during activities marking World Autism Day, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere highlighted the couple’s presence at the event alongside other children from the church’s free autism and Down syndrome school. He also noted that learning tools, including iPads and audio resources, were distributed to aid their education.
Addressing the situation, he wrote:
“TODAY 2 APRIL 2026, WORLD AUTISM DAY WAS CELEBRATED AROUND THE WORLD. Aboy and his wife attended. And HRM KING APOSTLE CHIBUZOR GIFT CHINYERE celebrated it with the children that attend OPM free school for autism and Down syndrome.
Each child that attends OPM free school for autism and down syndrome received a gift of one iPad each. This iPad will assist there learning process. And my business partner in China sent cartons of audio book called PHONICS FOR ALL. This audio book will really help the children learning process. And he gave it to the President of divine distributor of OPM to deliver it to me.
And Aboy Chibuzor was present with his beloved wife. And other autistic children also presented wedding gift to there former school mate.
And I have also changed Aboy name from Aboy CHIBUZOR to Elijah CHIBUZOR. And another question. How old is Aboy now Elijah ? Only his biological parents knows his true age.
But with what I saw below his belt that he was also bringing out in my compound, the size does not look like a child. Do you have idea that some young persons look older than there age and some old persons look younger than there age?
When Elijah was dropped at my gate, no one told me his age, even his tribe or even his name. That’s why I named him Aboy and I just changed today to Elijah. EVERYTHING IS FULLY FUNDED THROUGH TITHE AND OFFERINGS FROM OPM CHURCH.”
