Nigerian journalist, Sulaiman Adebayo better known as Pooja Media has revealed actions DR Congo took in light of the case against Nigeria.
Recall that after DR Congo beat Nigeria via penalties in the World Cup playoff, the latter went on to file a petition against DR Congo, accusing them of fielding ineligible players.
The final verdict was to be made by FIFA on Monday, 16th February 2026 to decide who would advance to the international playoffs but the decision is yet to be made as at the time of filing this report.
Amid the wait, Pooja made a post on X (formerly Twitter) alleging what DR Congo did during the process.
According to him, despite the fact that their actions weren’t loud, they did major works to protect their place.
He added that the world is still awaiting FIFA’s verdict.
In his words:
“DR Congo actually did a lot of work for this FIFA verdict.Â
They were not loud about it but they did major works.Â
The world waits for FIFA verdict.”
