Nollywood actress Lizzy Gold has addressed the much-discussed kissing scene she shared with actor Yul Edochie in their latest movie.
The scene recently attracted attention online, with some social media users speculating about a possible relationship between the two actors.
Lizzy Gold responded to the discussions in a video shared on Instagram on Saturday, September 26, 2026, explaining why she agreed to the scene despite generally avoiding such roles.
Lizzy Gold reveals why she kissed Yul Edochie
According to the actress, she had stayed away from kissing scenes for about four to five years because she does not particularly enjoy filming them.
However, she explained that one of the conditions that makes her comfortable with such a scene is being at ease with her co-star’s breath.
Lizzy said she and Yul Edochie were both comfortable with each other in that regard, which made it possible for them to film the scene.
“My colleague Yul has a very good breath. I also have a good breath. We both have good breath. So we’re comfortable doing the kissing scene,” she said.
Actress says she wants to avoid future kissing roles
Lizzy Gold further disclosed that she intends to stay away from kissing scenes in future movies that she does not personally own.
She noted that producers who are familiar with her preferences already know that she generally does not accept such scenes.
The actress also played down the attention surrounding her kiss with Yul, explaining that the moment was brief and lasted less than a minute.
According to her, the scene was only a small part of the movie and should not overshadow the central message of the production.

Addressing those who appeared more focused on the kissing scene than the film itself, Lizzy Gold emphasised that the production had a deeper storyline.
“The movie is a deep movie,” she said.
Her explanation comes amid online speculation linking her romantically with Yul Edochie following the release of the movie.
However, the actress’s comments focused on the professional circumstances surrounding the scene, rather than confirming any romantic relationship between the two actors.
The kissing scene has nevertheless continued to generate discussion among fans and social media users since clips from the movie surfaced online.
