Nigerian content creator Oje has weighed in on the viral encounter involving fellow creator Peter Ukah and presidential candidate Peter Obi.
A video circulating online appeared to show Ukah being publicly dismissed by Obi at what looked like a hotel lobby, sparking various reactions from social media users.
Following the incident, Oje shared his thoughts in a video recorded in a casual indoor setting, while footage of Ukah interacting and dancing in a lobby appeared alongside his commentary.
Oje speaks on Peter Ukah’s content
Oje criticised Ukah’s approach to content creation, claiming that much of his online popularity came from following Peter Obi to different events and creating content around him.
He argued that some creators had built their platforms by making fun of Obi while simultaneously benefiting from his popularity and public profile.
“Most of the time, they do caricature of this man,” Oje said.
According to Oje, Ukah’s interactions with the politician had created an impression that he was simply presenting Obi as an approachable and relatable political figure.
However, he suggested that the strategy was deliberate and aimed at attracting public attention.
“Now Peter everyone he did do like say he did… he wanted to fool everybody, make you be like say he’s down to earth. Now he’s the cause for this nonsense,” Oje said.
Oje criticises Peter Ukah’s supporters
The content creator also turned his attention to people who follow and engage with influencers without questioning the motives behind their content.
“I shame for you sometimes, they act my child. You guys are not my shoulder at all,” he said.
Oje suggested that the viral encounter between Ukah and Obi was partly a consequence of the way the content creator had conducted himself around the politician.
His comments have added another perspective to the growing online conversation surrounding the viral video, which has continued to generate reactions from Nigerians across social media.
