The Headquarters of the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) has declared a serving soldier, Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu, wanted over allegations that he was involved in the sale and supply of military uniforms to terrorists and criminal groups.
The declaration was contained in a statement issued by the NAOC and signed by Major Oluwatope Dorcas Aluko, assistant director of army public relations, on Wednesday, July 23.
The corps explained that preliminary investigations revealed that Amutu was serving with the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory before he reportedly abandoned his duty post on June 3, 2026.
Following his disappearance from his post, the military authorities declared him wanted and commenced efforts to locate and apprehend him.

According to the NAOC, the unauthorised sale or transfer of military uniforms, accoutrements, and other controlled items to non-state actors represents a serious threat to national security.
The corps warned that any personnel found to have assisted terrorists or criminal elements through such activities would be dealt with in accordance with the full provisions of both military and civil law.
“The Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps wishes to state unequivocally that it has zero tolerance for misconduct, indiscipline, or any act capable of compromising the operational effectiveness, integrity and reputation of the Nigerian Army or threatening national security,” the statement read.
Public asked to help locate Mohammed Yusuf Amutu
The NAOC has urged members of the public with credible information that could assist in locating and arresting Amutu to come forward.
The corps said such information should be promptly communicated to the nearest military formation or any other security agency for appropriate action.
The NAOC further assured Nigerians that it remains committed to upholding accountability and professionalism within its ranks.
It also stated that efforts would continue to strengthen internal control measures and ensure that every allegation of misconduct is properly and thoroughly investigated.
