Following the death of a retired senior military officer, members of his family shared heartfelt tributes in his honour, with one particular post attracting widespread public interest.
The messages surfaced after news of his passing and offered a glimpse into the kind of person he was beyond his years in military service.
The late officer’s daughter, identified on Instagram by the handle @aiisha_aleeyu, shared a direct message she received in the aftermath of her father’s death.
Reports stated that the former General lost his life after he was allegedly kidnapped by armed bandits while travelling with his wife and a driver.
According to the reports, the tragic attack took place while they were on the road, resulting in the general’s death. The direct message posted by his daughter was reportedly sent by someone who had known him before his passing.
In the message, the unnamed sender described the late general as a humble and approachable man who never allowed his military status to define how he related to others.
The individual also noted that he lived according to the Islamic principles he preached, adding that his actions consistently reflected his faith.
The message read: “Hmmm. You have no idea who he was. A very gentleman officer. Always coming up! A very down to earth man. One who not only preached Islam, but practiced it. One who loved ga people soo much and never believed they’d hurt him.”
