An X user identified as @xyz1mt has raised several questions regarding the reported rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers who were abducted by suspected bandits in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Recall that the incident occurred on May 16, 2026, when suspected bandits invaded several communities within Orire Local Government Area and abducted 39 pupils and seven teachers from three different schools.
During their time in captivity, a mathematics teacher identified as Michael Oyedokun, who was among the abductees, appeared in a gruesome video in which he was executed by the suspected bandits.
After finally regaining their freedom on July 10, 2026, it was confirmed that the schoolchildren and teachers had spent 55 days in captivity before they were successfully rescued by security operatives.
Despite the relief that greeted the news of their rescue, X user @xyz1mt expressed reservations about the report and questioned several aspects of the incident.
He wondered why there had been no official update from security operatives on the fate of the kidnappers, particularly whether they were apprehended or neutralized during the rescue operation.
He also pointed out that the rescued schoolchildren and teachers appeared unusually fresh and healthy despite reportedly spending 55 days in captivity.
He wrote:
“Guess who never made it back al!v£, Mr Micheal he was behe@ded for what he knew nothing about.
The first frame looks off and something is not right with the freed captives, I know by now the school principal will be used for politician content by APC and she will have to play along also, she’s already thanking Tinubu (her father) that do not care about her.
No news about the kidnappers if they were apprehended or k!łł£d, what is really going on these are the questions we should be asking.
Kidnapped victims and children that spent 55 days looks fresh and healthy like this.
Look closely…Kidnapped Oyo” “Rescued in Oyo State”….
those ‘rescued’ ..the Oyo children emerge with spotless clothes, clean skin, neat hair. In the bush? After days in captivity?
This doesn’t smell right. It reeks of theater. Are we being played for fools? Our intelligence insulted.
Nigerians deserve truth..not a beautifully staged lie.”..who pay the ransom???
Seyi Makinde…oyo state Governor what is your observation?”
