Popular Nigerian socialite and music promoter Samson Erinfolami Balogun, popularly known as Sam Larry, has returned to the public eye for the first time since reports emerged that he was involved in a devastating road accident.
The socialite was reportedly involved in a crash on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road on Saturday, July 4, 2026, an incident that quickly triggered concern among fans and sparked widespread discussion across social media platforms.
Images and video clips shared online at the time showed a severely wrecked vehicle alleged to belong to Sam Larry.
Witnesses claimed the accident happened during the early hours of the morning, adding to the wave of speculation surrounding the incident.
Reports alleged that Sam Larry’s vehicle collided with a trailer along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road. It was also reported that one of his close associates, Wale, who was said to have worked as his bouncer, lost his life at the scene, while the music promoter was taken to a hospital to receive medical attention.
Following the crash, social media was flooded with reactions as users debated the severity of his condition. Investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo further fueled the conversation by alleging that the socialite could lose both of his legs because of the accident.
A fresh video that surfaced online on the night of July 10, 2026, has, however, painted a different picture, showing Sam Larry appearing healthy and in stable condition.
In the footage, the music promoter is seen standing confidently among friends as they marked his recovery after the accident.
During the gathering, those around him also sang in response to critics who had celebrated or wished him harm when news of the crash first circulated.
