A Nigerian man has shared a detailed list of 46 microfinance banks whose operating licences were revoked by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The information quickly gained traction on social media after it was posted on a widely used platform, prompting many Nigerians to verify whether they had any financial ties to the affected institutions.

The list was published by an X user identified as @profitableman1.
In the post, he highlighted the licence revocation announcement and advised anyone who had accounts, investments or other financial relationships with the named institutions to review their status and stay alert.
To support the notice, he uploaded images containing the complete list, providing the name of each bank alongside its classification tier and the state where it operated.
The post served as a public awareness message, encouraging people to act promptly in response to the regulatory decision.
The document indicated that the affected microfinance banks were located across different regions of Nigeria. Institutions from 19 states appeared on the list, including Rivers, Abia, Kwara, Niger, Lagos, Kano, Bayelsa, Kebbi, Ogun, Abuja, Cross River, Oyo, Delta, Anambra, Kaduna, Benue, Ondo, Plateau and Osun.
Some of the listed institutions were accompanied by remarks indicating their previous names, revealing that several had operated under different identities before adopting their current names.
The classification section included a combination of Tier 1, Tier 2 and State categories, reflecting differences in their operational coverage and capital requirements before the Central Bank of Nigeria withdrew their licences.
