The University of Cape Coast (UCC) community has been thrown into mourning following the death of student and singer Enoch Eshun, widely known as Enochay. He passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Enochay became widely recognised across Ghana for his remarkable determination while living with a rare medical condition that made it impossible for him to sit or bend.

His passing comes just a year after he received a brand-new Hyundai Tucson and a GH₵20,000 (N3million) cash donation to ease the burden of his education and everyday living.
The sad news was confirmed by Ghanaian blogger Zion Felix after he spoke with Enochay’s mother. Although the exact cause of his death has not been made public, many believe it may have been connected to the medical condition he had endured for several years, Pulse Ghana reports.
Enochay first gained national attention when he opened up about his health challenges during an interview with Zion Felix.
At the age of 19, he disclosed that he had been living with the condition for five years, leaving him unable to sit or bend and forcing him to spend his days either standing or lying down.
His mother also expressed gratitude, saying the donation had brought “great relief” to the family.
Since news of his passing emerged, tributes have continued to pour in from fans, fellow students, and well-wishers across Ghana, many remembering him as an enduring symbol of courage, resilience, and hope.
