The wife of the slain teacher, Michael Oyedokun, has appealed to the Federal Government and relevant security agencies to assist in recovering her husband’s remains so he can be given a proper burial.
It would be recalled that on May 16, 2026, suspected bandits attacked three schools in Oyo State, abducting teachers and pupils in a coordinated operation that left a total of 46 people kidnapped. Among the victims were 39 students and seven teachers, including Mr. Oyedokun.
Tragically, a disturbing video later surfaced online showing the brutal execution of the Mathematics teacher by the suspected kidnappers, a development that further intensified public anger and grief across the country.
The incident triggered widespread reactions from prominent Nigerians, including the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as several celebrities such as Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, and Opeyemi Aiyeola. The incident also sparked nationwide outrage and deep sorrow.
In a video shared on Friday, May 22, 2026, Mrs. Mary Oyedokun, now the widow of the slain teacher, made an emotional appeal to the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, security agencies, and other relevant authorities, urging them to help recover her husband’s body.
She said she wanted to be able to give him a dignified burial and prepare a resting place for him in line with her family’s wishes moving forward.
