Amadu Raheem Komba Gbandeh, the Sierra Leonean football analyst well-known for accurately predicting 28 football matches, has now revealed his predictions for the quarter-final fixtures of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a Facebook post published on Thursday, 9 July 2026, Gbandeh shared his expectations for each of the tournament’s four quarter-final clashes, explaining why he believes each match will unfold the way he predicted.
Gbandeh’s FIFA World Cup quarter-final predictions
Looking ahead to the Morocco versus France encounter, Gbandeh described the fixture in his Facebook post as a showdown between two outstanding teams.
He predicted that neither side would be able to separate itself during the regulation 90 minutes or extra time, anticipating that the contest would be decided by a penalty shootout.
According to his forecast, France would come up short in the shootout and bow out of the competition.
For the Spain versus Belgium clash, Gbandeh expressed greater confidence in the outcome. He predicted that Spain’s possession-oriented approach would prove too strong for Belgium, allowing the Spaniards to claim victory within normal time and eliminate their opponents.
Gbandeh regarded the England versus Norway fixture as the most difficult of the four quarter-final matches to predict.
Although he expects the game to end level after 90 minutes, he believes Norway will ultimately advance, handing Harry Kane and his teammates a surprise exit from the tournament.
Turning to the final quarter-final between Argentina and Switzerland, Gbandeh said he expects the Swiss to provide the defending champions with a stern challenge and remain competitive throughout the contest.
Even so, he backed Argentina to produce the decisive breakthrough in extra time, with their talisman making the crucial impact, while Switzerland’s World Cup journey comes to an end.
