Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, widely known as Daddy Freeze, has fired back at criticism directed at him by former BBNaija housemate Cross Okonkwo.
The exchange follows comments Daddy Freeze made after attending the service of songs held in honour of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo.
Following the memorial event, Daddy Freeze publicly questioned the roles played by prominent clerics Jerry Eze and Nathaniel Bassey, who were among the notable figures present.
He wondered why the pastors were unable to intervene before the actor’s passing, arguing that if they truly possessed divine healing powers, they should have been capable of curing whatever illness ultimately led to his death.
His remarks quickly stirred debate online and appeared to draw a reaction from former reality TV star Cross Okonkwo.
Taking to his X account on Sunday, June 14, 2026, Cross openly rebuked the podcast host over the comments.
The former BBNaija contestant urged Daddy Freeze to refrain from speaking on matters relating to Jesus Christ if he lacked sufficient understanding of the faith. He also appealed to him to stop making critical remarks about Christian leaders.
He wrote: “Daddy freeze with due respect sometimes keep your mouth shut 🤫. If you don’t know any thing about our father Jesus Christ. Don’t talk. And leave men and women of GOD out of your mouth.”

Daddy Freeze did not let the criticism go unanswered.
Reacting through a video posted on his Instagram page, the broadcaster challenged Cross Okonkwo to a N100 million wager. He called on the former reality star to present any pastor he believes possesses genuine healing powers and proposed a public demonstration involving disabled individuals.
During the video, Daddy Freeze cited several biblical passages in which prophets performed miraculous healings, questioning why contemporary Nigerian pastors are unable to produce similar results.
He said: “Cross, i thereby challenge you, I will put N50m down and I will raise a further N50m from my people, making it a N100m, if any of your so-called men of God can heal just one out of the 50 crippled persons that I will provide.”
